Cosmic reality

Perhaps I think too much. Here's an example: Using a cosmic perspective, one could say that if the world was obliterated and everyone died, it would be an insignificant event. When one considers the vastness of the universe, what difference could it possibly make. Using this "reality", our own individual lives seem utterly meaningless. Our daily accomplishments, our happy times, sad times, relationships have no meaning. These things only fill in the grain of sand void in time before we reach our inevitable deaths. This being said, it makes me wonder why we bother risking that next stubbed toe, the next heartache, the next manic Monday on the job.
